Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Echo Specialist to join our dynamic team at Care Hospitals and Clinics. In this critical role, you will be responsible for performing advanced echocardiographic studies, providing preliminary interpretations, and serving as a technical expert in cardiac ultrasound imaging. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering superior medical treatment, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of care. Key Responsibilities

The Echo Specialist will execute a wide range of specialized echocardiographic procedures, including:

• Advanced Imaging Techniques: Conduct specialized studies such as 3D/4D echocardiography, contrast studies, and strain imaging to provide comprehensive cardiac assessments.
• Comprehensive Echocardiograms: Perform M-Mode and 2-dimensional echocardiograms for patients of all ages, including adults, children, and infants, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging.
• Complex Procedures: Execute transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and pharmacological stress tests to evaluate cardiac function under various conditions.
• Critical Care Support: Provide ICU bedside echocardiography to assess hemodynamics and guide urgent clinical decisions, ensuring timely intervention when critical findings are identified.
• Hemodynamic Assessments: Perform thorough hemodynamic evaluations to support the diagnosis and management of complex congenital and acquired heart diseases.
• Patient-Centered Care: Position patients correctly for optimal imaging results, monitor their comfort and vital signs throughout procedures, and explain procedures clearly to obtain informed consent.
• Technical Excellence: Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards to deliver reliable diagnostic results.
• Documentation and Reporting: Process and maintain accurate records of all echocardiographic results, perform comprehensive documentation in accordance with departmental standards, and submit completed reports in a timely manner.
• Leadership and Mentorship: Organize and manage departmental coverage schedules, mentor junior technologists and students, and participate in continuing education to uphold the highest professional standards.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Ministry of Health (MOH) and Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) accreditation standards, maintaining the integrity and quality of cardiac imaging services.
• Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, procedures, and post-procedure care in alignment with institutional policies, documenting all educational interactions in the patient medical record.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
• Certifications: Registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and a current, valid license as an Echo Specialist. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of specialized experience in echocardiography post-qualification, preferably in a large hospital setting.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in operating and optimizing ultrasound equipment, including transducer manipulation and image acquisition.
  • Expertise in Doppler techniques, quality control, and equipment maintenance to ensure high-resolution imaging.
  • Strong image analysis and documentation skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with a friendly, flexible, patient, and courteous demeanor.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
  • Strong computer application skills to support documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks.
