Key Responsibilities

As a Heat Treatment Operator at GE Vernova, your core duties will include:

• Equipment Operation: Safely operate heat treatment furnaces, ovens, and related machinery to achieve precise temperature and time cycles for various materials, including metals and alloys.
• Process Control: Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure compliance with industry standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements.
• Quality Assurance: Perform inspections and tests to verify that treated materials meet stringent quality benchmarks, including hardness, strength, and dimensional accuracy.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct routine maintenance on heat treatment equipment, identify potential issues, and collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve technical challenges promptly.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard identification, and emergency response procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of heat treatment processes, including temperature logs, cycle times, and inspection results, in compliance with ISO and other regulatory standards.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, quality control specialists, and production teams to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and address any deviations or non-conformances.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with heat treatment equipment, including induction heating, carburizing, annealing, or tempering processes.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with metallurgy principles, heat treatment techniques, and relevant industry standards such as ASTM, ASME, or API.
• Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills to ensure precision in process control and quality assurance.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Safety Awareness: A proactive approach to workplace safety, including adherence to OSHA, NFPA, and other regulatory guidelines.
• Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication to report issues, document processes, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
