Cyber Security Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this critical position, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization’s digital assets by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust cybersecurity frameworks. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of functions, including the establishment of security standards, identity and access management, vulnerability and patch management, network monitoring, forensic analysis, incident response, security architecture design, and cyber threat intelligence. This role is instrumental in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems while mitigating risks and responding effectively to emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Policy Development and Maintenance: Lead the creation, review, and enforcement of comprehensive cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Security Assessments and Audits: Conduct thorough cybersecurity assessments, including maturity assessments, risk evaluations, compliance audits, vulnerability scans, social engineering tests, and penetration testing to identify and address potential security gaps.
• Data Protection and Access Control: Implement and monitor stringent measures to protect sensitive data and information systems from unauthorized access, modification, or destruction, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
• Security Metrics and Performance Tracking: Develop and maintain cybersecurity metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls and track the organization’s cybersecurity performance over time.
• Security Awareness Programs: Design and deliver engaging cybersecurity awareness programs and training sessions to educate employees on best practices, emerging threats, and their role in maintaining a secure environment.
• Incident Management and Response: Provide expert support in incident management, including investigation, forensic analysis, and remediation to minimize the impact of security breaches and restore normal operations swiftly.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong educational background and relevant certifications, coupled with extensive hands-on experience in the cybersecurity domain. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in an IT-related field, such as Information Security, Information Technology, Computer & Information Systems, or Network Administration. Advanced degrees or specialized training in cybersecurity are highly desirable.

Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), CompTIA Security+, or GIAC Security Operations Certified (G SOC) are required to demonstrate expertise and commitment to the field.

Required Experience: A minimum of 12 years of progressive work experience in cybersecurity, with a proven track record in implementing and managing security frameworks, conducting assessments, and responding to incidents.

Preferred Skills: Additional certifications or hands-on experience in specialized areas of cybersecurity, such as cloud security, threat intelligence, or forensic analysis, will be considered a significant advantage.
