Role Overview

The Head of Accounting at PayLink is a full-time, on-site position based in Al Khobar. This leadership role is pivotal in overseeing the entire accounting function, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing general ledger activities, supervising month-end and year-end closing processes, and guaranteeing the timely and precise preparation of financial statements. This role extends to leading financial reporting initiatives, maintaining strict compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and coordinating audits with both external and internal stakeholders. The Head of Accounting will also be instrumental in developing and implementing robust accounting policies and procedures, monitoring cash flow and budgeting processes, and providing insightful financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making. Additionally, the role encompasses managing and mentoring the accounting team, enhancing systems and internal controls, and fostering close collaboration with finance and operations to uphold strong financial governance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership: Oversee the entire accounting function, including general ledger management, month-end and year-end closing processes, and the preparation of accurate financial statements.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies while leading financial reporting initiatives and coordinating audits.
• Strategic Financial Analysis: Provide comprehensive financial analysis to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making processes across the organization.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Process Improvement: Enhance accounting systems, internal controls, and operational efficiencies to drive continuous improvement and mitigate financial risks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure robust financial governance and seamless integration of accounting practices with broader business objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, with a proven ability to prepare and review statutory and management financial reports. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, enabling them to interpret financial data, support forecasting efforts, and guide critical business decisions. Leadership experience in managing accounting teams is essential, along with the ability to coach, develop, and optimize team performance. Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and standards is critical, and prior experience in the fintech or financial services sector is highly advantageous. Proficiency in advanced accounting and ERP systems, as well as strong skills in spreadsheet and reporting tools, is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory, and professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred. The successful candidate will exhibit meticulous attention to detail, unwavering integrity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders in an on-site capacity in Al Khobar.
