Accountant (Saudi National)

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, in accordance with Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and reconciled on a timely basis. Monitor account balances to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process and manage vendor invoices, expense reports, and customer payments. Verify the accuracy of transactions and ensure timely payments to suppliers while optimizing cash flow.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including Value Added Tax (VAT), Zakat, and other statutory obligations. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure full compliance.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis to support informed decision-making.
• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks. Conduct periodic audits and reviews to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Audit Support: Liaise with external auditors during annual financial audits. Provide necessary documentation and explanations to facilitate a smooth audit process.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for cost optimization. Present insights and recommendations to senior management to drive business growth.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between the finance department and other business units, ensuring clear and transparent communication regarding financial matters.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or trading environment. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with accounting software and financial management tools.
• Language Skills: Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal, is essential. Additional languages are a valuable asset.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Legal Requirements: Must be a Saudi national with a valid Iqama (work permit) and eligible to work in Dammam.
