Financial Director

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Financial Director to lead the financial strategy and operations of our publicly listed company. This pivotal role will be responsible for shaping the financial direction of the organization, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving sustainable growth through strategic planning, robust financial management, and insightful leadership. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in financial leadership within dynamic, technology-driven environments, coupled with a deep understanding of corporate governance and capital markets.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Director will play a critical role in the following areas:

• Financial Strategy & Planning:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies that align with the company’s long-term vision and growth objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Directors to inform critical decision-making processes.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets, long-term financial forecasts, and dynamic financial models that support corporate objectives and market positioning.
• Financial Management & Reporting:
  • Oversee all accounting functions, financial reporting, and auditing processes to ensure full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and transparent financial statements, management reports, and board presentations that reflect the company’s financial health and performance.
  • Monitor financial performance against established business plans, identify key variances, and propose actionable recommendations to optimize outcomes.
  • Implement and maintain advanced financial systems, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Governance, Risk & Compliance:
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and corporate governance standards to safeguard the organization’s assets and reputation.
  • Lead tax planning initiatives, ensure compliance with all tax obligations, and manage engagements with external auditors, regulators, and tax authorities.
  • Stay abreast of evolving listing requirements, market regulations, and financial legislation to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.
• Treasury & Cash Flow Management:
  • Manage liquidity, cash flow, and working capital to support both operational needs and strategic investment opportunities.
  • Oversee banking relationships, financing arrangements, and capital allocation decisions to optimize the company’s financial structure.
  • Evaluate and recommend investment opportunities that align with the company’s growth strategy and risk tolerance.
• Team Leadership & Development:
  • Provide visionary leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation.
  • Develop and mentor finance professionals to build organizational capabilities that support the company’s rapid growth and expansion in the technology sector.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.
• Professional Certification: Active certification such as CPA, CMA, CFA, or an equivalent qualification is strongly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 12–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within a dynamic, preferably technology-driven organization.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of IFRS, corporate governance frameworks, and financial requirements for publicly listed companies.
• Industry Background: Prior experience in the IT, technology, or telecommunications sector is advantageous.
