Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of accounting activities, supervising financial reporting processes, and providing critical financial analysis to support management. The role demands a meticulous approach to maintaining financial integrity while contributing to the organization’s strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
• Accounting Supervision: Review and validate accounting entries prepared by junior accountants to ensure accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and working capital to optimize liquidity and support operational needs.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts to guide strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate smooth and efficient audit processes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and company-specific accounting policies to maintain financial transparency and compliance.
• Management Reporting: Develop and deliver insightful management reports and financial analyses to support executive decision-making.
• Tax and Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and file tax returns and other regulatory reports in accordance with applicable laws and deadlines.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce operational costs.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record in financial reporting and analysis.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and experience in preparing financial statements.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and proficiency in financial software applications.
• Professional Certification: Possession of professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or an equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels.
