IT Shift Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Shift Technician to join our team at Dammam Airport. In this critical role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for IT support, ensuring the seamless operation of all IT systems and infrastructure. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hardware and software components, while providing exceptional end-user support to enhance operational efficiency across the airport environment.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Shift Technician, your core responsibilities will include:

• End-User Support:
  • Resolving technical issues related to contracted systems, including AOS equipment (servers, workstations, FIDS Client), airport operation systems (AOS) such as FIDS, TAMS, RMS, IB, CMS, and CATS, as well as smart airport systems like TDAS, E-gates, and HHT.
  • Conducting troubleshooting for user-reported issues to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Managing the handover and takeover of IT equipment to ensure continuity and accountability.
  • Replacing damaged IT equipment and installing new systems on-site as required.
• Preventive Maintenance:
  • Participating in the Dammam IT team’s daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance (PM) activities, including inspections of E-gates, CATS workstations, FIDS Client devices, and HHT units at checkpoints.
  • Monitoring and maintaining data center air conditioning systems and servers to ensure optimal performance.
  • Cleaning FIDS display fan filters to prevent overheating and ensure system reliability.
• Technical Support and Infrastructure Maintenance:
  • Providing timely technical support to users, addressing queries, and resolving IT-related problems to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Performing regular maintenance tasks such as software updates, backups, and security checks to safeguard IT infrastructure.
  • Monitoring IT systems and applications to proactively identify and resolve issues or errors before they escalate.
  • Installing and upgrading IT systems and applications with minimal disruption to airport operations.
• Documentation and Compliance:
  • Documenting IT procedures, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting processes, to ensure consistency and adherence to best practices.
  • Providing training to airport staff on the proper use of IT systems and applications to enhance user proficiency.
  • Ensuring all IT systems and applications comply with relevant regulations, including data protection and cybersecurity laws.
  • Escalating critical issues to the IT Operations Duty Leader or other senior team members as necessary.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and skills:

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in IT support are encouraged to apply.
• Must be a Saudi national to meet employment eligibility requirements.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and support end-users.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English to facilitate clear and effective communication.
