Key Responsibilities

The Compliance Expert will be responsible for supporting the implementation and enhancement of our organization’s compliance framework. Your core duties will include conducting compliance monitoring and testing, assessing regulatory adherence, identifying compliance risks, and ensuring timely resolution of compliance findings. This role is critical in maintaining a robust compliance culture and ensuring full alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Your contributions will directly support the organization’s strategic objectives and commitment to operational excellence.

Core Accountabilities

• Compliance Monitoring and Testing: Execute the annual compliance monitoring and testing plan in accordance with the approved scope, schedule, and methodology. Conduct risk-based compliance reviews and field testing across business units to evaluate adherence to laws, regulations, policies, and internal controls.
• Documentation and Reporting: Document testing procedures, evidence, observations, and findings in compliance with established quality standards. Analyze compliance gaps, identify root causes, and prepare comprehensive, risk-based reports with actionable recommendations for corrective measures.
• Follow-Up and Escalation: Monitor and follow up on compliance findings to ensure timely closure within agreed service levels. Escalate overdue or high-risk issues to senior management as necessary, ensuring proactive risk management.
• Regulatory Tracking and Updates: Maintain and update the organization’s compliance universe by identifying and tracking applicable legal, regulatory, and policy obligations. Stay abreast of regulatory developments and recommend updates to compliance controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate emerging risks.
• Regulatory Submissions and Coordination: Prepare compliance reports, regulatory submissions, dashboards, and performance metrics for management and regulatory authorities. Coordinate compliance audits and regulatory inspections by preparing documentation, organizing evidence, and supporting inspection activities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Provide expert guidance to business units on compliance requirements and promote awareness of compliance obligations across the organization. Foster a culture of compliance through training, communication, and collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, internal control, risk management, or audit, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact results in a corporate or semi-government environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable compliance strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in compliance frameworks, regulatory standards, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
