Role Overview

As a Junior Scout at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating emerging talent across Scandinavia. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough player assessments, producing detailed scouting reports, and providing critical market intelligence to support the club’s recruitment strategy. This role is instrumental in building a robust talent pipeline that aligns with our long-term vision and competitive objectives. You will operate within a structured scouting framework, leveraging your expertise to uncover hidden gems and contribute to the club’s strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Player Evaluation and Analysis:
  • Adhere to the club’s scouting framework, methodology, and player profiling guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy in assessments.
  • Attend live and online matches to evaluate player performance, providing objective and insightful observations.
  • Conduct in-depth research on leagues and players aligned with the Emerging Talent Programme, identifying potential targets that align with the club’s strategic needs.
  • Produce structured, objective, and actionable scouting reports using the club’s standardized templates.
• Intelligence and Information Gathering:
  • Collect comprehensive background information and references on identified players, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of their potential and background.
  • Share intelligence effectively to support alignment with the club’s recruitment strategy and objectives.
  • Build and maintain a robust network of contacts across clubs, agents, and scouting networks to enhance information flow and opportunities.
  • Support the gathering of market intelligence on targeted players, including performance trends, transfer dynamics, and competitive landscape insights.
• Internal Coordination and Communication:
  • Participate in scouting department meetings as required, contributing to discussions and strategic planning.
  • Communicate player insights and reports clearly and concisely to recruitment staff and technical leadership, ensuring alignment with the club’s objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the recruitment team to ensure that scouting outputs are integrated into the broader recruitment strategy.
• Professional Development and Standards:
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training programs to enhance your scouting skills and stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Support additional duties as required to meet the evolving needs of the department and contribute to its success.

Qualifications and Experience

Desirable Qualifications:

• Formal scouting certification, such as PFSA, UEFA Talent ID, or an equivalent qualification.
• Coaching qualifications, including a UEFA License or equivalent, to provide a well-rounded perspective on player development.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in scouting or recruitment within a professional football environment.
• A strong understanding of talent identification and youth player profiling, with the ability to assess potential accurately.
• In-depth knowledge of league structures, player markets, and emerging talent pathways, particularly in Scandinavia.
• Proficiency in assessing players in line with the club’s methodology, ensuring objective and consistent evaluations.
• Experience in both live and video scouting analysis, leveraging technology to enhance insights.
• Exceptional analytical skills to interpret performance data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to produce clear, structured, and objective reports that inform recruitment decisions.
• Understanding of recruitment strategy and squad planning, with the ability to align scouting efforts with long-term goals.
• Familiarity with scouting software and data tools to streamline the evaluation process.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly and persuasively to stakeholders.
• Capacity to work independently while maintaining alignment with the wider scouting strategy and club objectives.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including weekends and evenings, to fulfill scouting responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license to facilitate travel and on-site assessments.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience presenting insights to senior stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to influence key decisions.
