Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Scheduling: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive manufacturing plans that align with organizational goals, ensuring optimal resource utilization, timely production cycles, and adherence to delivery timelines. Utilize advanced planning tools and methodologies to forecast demand, allocate materials, and balance workloads across production lines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between production teams, procurement, logistics, engineering, and senior management to facilitate clear communication, resolve conflicts, and ensure all stakeholders are aligned with manufacturing objectives. Lead regular meetings to review progress, address bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
- Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in manufacturing processes and lead initiatives to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Champion lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or other best practices to drive sustainable improvements and cost savings.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Oversee inventory levels, monitor material flow, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of components and raw materials. Implement inventory control strategies to minimize excess stock while preventing shortages that could disrupt production.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure manufacturing efficiency, on-time delivery, and quality metrics. Generate detailed reports for senior leadership, highlighting trends, variances, and opportunities for enhancement. Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and recommend strategic adjustments.
- Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and lead a team of manufacturing planners and coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning. Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth initiatives to build a high-performing team.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Promote a safety-first culture by conducting risk assessments, implementing preventive measures, and ensuring adherence to environmental and occupational health guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing planning, production management, or a related role, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity. Experience in a multinational or industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of manufacturing planning software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP or Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with production scheduling tools. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is essential.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights. Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on root-cause analysis and sustainable solutions.
- Leadership and Communication: Demonstrated leadership in driving team performance, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and present findings in a clear, concise manner.
