Role Overview

The Financial Accounting Specialist at PayLink will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment. This full-time, on-site position based in Al Khobar will require the successful candidate to manage the entire accounting function, from maintaining the general ledger to supervising critical month-end and year-end closing processes. The role encompasses the preparation of precise and timely financial statements, adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and coordination with external and internal stakeholders during audits. The Financial Accounting Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing robust accounting policies and procedures, monitoring cash flow and budgeting processes, and providing insightful financial analysis to support executive decision-making. Additionally, the role involves leading and mentoring the accounting team, enhancing financial systems and controls, and collaborating closely with finance and operations to uphold strong financial governance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation and review of statutory and management financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with auditors to facilitate smooth internal and external audit processes.
• Accounting Operations: Manage the general ledger, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. Supervise month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and precise financial reporting.
• Strategic Financial Analysis: Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance financial performance.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and operational excellence. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to drive team success.
• Policy and Procedure Development: Design and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to strengthen financial governance and mitigate risks. Ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory expectations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, operations, and other departments to ensure financial integrity and support organizational objectives. Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on financial matters.
• System and Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance accounting systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Leverage technology to streamline financial operations and reporting.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education and Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of core accounting principles, financial statements, and reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems, as well as advanced skills in spreadsheet and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
• Analytical and Financial Skills: Strong ability to interpret financial data, conduct variance analysis, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions. Experience in financial forecasting and budgeting is a plus.
• Leadership and Management: Proven experience leading accounting teams, with a track record of coaching, developing, and managing performance. Ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory requirements, particularly in the fintech or financial services sector. Experience navigating complex regulatory environments is advantageous.
