Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineer at Saudi German Health, you will play a central role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our hospital’s mechanical systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- System Oversight: Manage and supervise the operation and maintenance of essential mechanical systems, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, medical gas systems, pumps, boilers, and associated equipment to ensure uninterrupted functionality.
- Maintenance Planning and Execution: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of critical systems.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of maintenance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Contractor Coordination: Collaborate with external contractors and vendors to ensure timely and high-quality execution of maintenance and repair projects, adhering to contractual and regulatory standards.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure strict adherence to hospital safety protocols, engineering regulations, and quality standards, including local and international codes, to maintain a secure and compliant environment for patients and staff.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for system enhancements, energy efficiency improvements, and cost-saving initiatives to drive operational excellence and sustainability.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary skills:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong preference for candidates with prior experience in healthcare or hospital environments.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, medical gas systems, plumbing, pumps, boilers, and preventive maintenance methodologies.
- Leadership and Communication: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and solve complex engineering challenges with a solution-oriented approach.
