Production Planning Engineer

The Production Planning Engineer is a pivotal role responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing production plans that ensure timely delivery of customer requirements while maximizing manufacturing efficiency, resource utilization, inventory control, and production capacity. This position serves as the crucial link between Sales, Supply Chain, Procurement, Inventory, Production, and Logistics.

• Develop short, medium, and long-term production plans and schedules.
• Balance customer demand with available manufacturing capacity and resources.
• Monitor and optimize machine, labor, and resource utilization to improve operational efficiency.
• Analyze sales forecasts, customer orders, and production requirements to support effective capacity planning.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to ensure material availability and prevent production disruptions.
• Monitor inventory levels while supporting inventory optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Logistics, Maintenance, and other stakeholders.
• Track production performance and recommend improvement actions.
• Support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Prepare production planning reports, capacity analyses, and dashboards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline.
• APICS CPIM certification is an advantage.
• 4 to 8 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing, fabrication, or project-based industries.
• Experience in steel fabrication or industrial equipment manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, material requirement planning, and inventory control.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Capacity Planning and Material Requirement Planning (MRP).
• ERP Systems and Manufacturing Process Knowledge.
• Data Analysis and Reporting.
• Strong Communication and Cross-Functional Collaboration Skills.
• High level of accountability, organization, and attention to detail.
