Cyber Security Consultant

Overview

As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding an organization’s digital infrastructure by assessing, designing, and implementing robust cybersecurity measures. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This position requires a proactive approach to security, combining technical proficiency with strategic advisory skills to support secure operations across networks, systems, and applications.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for a wide range of cybersecurity functions, including:

• Risk Assessment and Security Reviews: Conduct comprehensive cybersecurity risk assessments, security reviews, and gap analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls across infrastructure, applications, and operational environments.
• Security Architecture and Controls: Design and recommend robust security architectures, controls, and frameworks that align with industry best practices, such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS benchmarks, to enhance organizational resilience against cyber threats.
• Implementation and Optimization: Support the deployment and optimization of critical security solutions, including firewalls, endpoint protection systems, SIEM platforms, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools, Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, and vulnerability management systems.
• Technical Security Assessments: Perform in-depth security assessments, including configuration reviews, compliance audits, and technical validations, to identify weaknesses and ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory standards.
• Risk Analysis and Remediation: Evaluate security risks by assessing their potential impact and likelihood, then provide clear, actionable recommendations to mitigate identified threats and vulnerabilities.
• Incident Response Support: Assist in incident response activities by conducting investigations, providing containment guidance, and participating in post-incident reviews to strengthen future security measures.
• Stakeholder Advisory: Collaborate with stakeholders to advise on secure system design, change management processes, and the adoption of security best practices to foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed security reports, risk registers, and executive summaries to communicate findings, recommendations, and compliance status to management and clients in a clear and concise manner.
• Compliance and Audit Support: Facilitate compliance and audit activities by providing necessary evidence, documentation, and technical explanations to ensure organizational adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity trends, and proactively recommend enhancements to security policies, procedures, and technologies to maintain a robust security posture.

Talent Profile

We seek a highly motivated professional with the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+, are highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset.
• 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with a proven track record in risk assessment, security architecture, and incident response.
