Senior IoT / ThingsBoard Integration Engineer – IBM Maximo Integration

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IoT / ThingsBoard Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dammam. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and optimizing IoT solutions by integrating ThingsBoard with IBM Maximo, ensuring seamless data flow and operational efficiency across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in IoT platforms, middleware solutions, and enterprise asset management systems, with a proven track record of delivering robust integration projects in industrial or enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• IoT Platform Integration: Lead the integration of ThingsBoard, an open-source IoT platform, with IBM Maximo, a leading enterprise asset management solution. Develop and maintain APIs, connectors, and middleware to enable real-time data exchange between IoT devices and Maximo’s asset management framework.
• System Architecture Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and resilient IoT architectures that align with business objectives. Evaluate and recommend integration strategies, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure and future scalability.
• Data Modeling and Mapping: Define data models and mappings to translate raw IoT data into structured formats compatible with IBM Maximo. Implement data transformation logic to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability across systems.
• API Development and Optimization: Develop, test, and optimize RESTful APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures to facilitate secure and efficient communication between ThingsBoard and IBM Maximo. Ensure high availability, low latency, and fault tolerance in data transmission.
• Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve integration issues proactively. Utilize logging, analytics, and diagnostic tools to maintain optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
• Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures, including authentication, authorization, and encryption, to protect sensitive data during transmission and storage. Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
• Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with stakeholders, including developers, data scientists, and business analysts, to gather requirements and deliver solutions. Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, APIs, and system configurations for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in ThingsBoard, IBM Maximo, and middleware technologies such as MuleSoft, Apache Camel, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP) and enterprise integration patterns.
• Programming Skills: Advanced proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js, with experience in developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures. Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases is essential.
• Cloud and On-Premise Integration: Experience integrating cloud-based IoT platforms with on-premise enterprise systems. Knowledge of IBM Cloud, AWS IoT, or Azure IoT Hub is a plus.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues and implement effective solutions under tight deadlines. Strong analytical and debugging skills are required.
• Communication and Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead integration projects with minimal supervision.
• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in IoT integration, enterprise software development, or a similar role, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience with ThingsBoard and IBM Maximo integrations.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in IBM Maximo, ThingsBoard, or enterprise integration platforms are highly desirable.
