Key Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in shaping the financial health of the organization by executing the following responsibilities:

• Financial System Development and Management: Design, implement, and oversee systems for the collection, analysis, verification, and reporting of financial information. Ensure these systems are efficient, accurate, and aligned with organizational goals.
• Departmental Leadership: Manage and direct the daily operations of the accounting department, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Mentor and develop accounting staff to enhance their professional growth and performance.

• Policy Guidance and Implementation: Serve as a resource for other departments by interpreting accounting policies and applying observations to operational challenges. Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard the organization’s financial assets.
• Chart of Accounts and Procedures: Establish and maintain a comprehensive chart of accounts, along with clear accounting policies and procedures. Ensure these frameworks support efficient financial management and compliance.
• Confidentiality and Security: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality by safeguarding sensitive financial information. Implement and monitor security measures to protect the organization’s financial integrity.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory compliance requirements.
