Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary liaison between our customers and our service technicians, ensuring a seamless and transparent experience throughout the vehicle maintenance and repair process. Your expertise will be instrumental in diagnosing vehicle issues, providing detailed explanations of required services, and fostering long-term customer relationships. Key Responsibilities

The Service Advisor is responsible for a wide range of duties designed to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Diagnostic Consultation: Conduct thorough vehicle diagnostics to identify the root cause of issues, determine necessary repairs, and recommend replacement parts. Utilize diagnostic check sheets to ensure accuracy and clarity in your assessments.
• Customer Communication: Engage with customers in a professional and courteous manner, actively listening to their concerns and explaining repair options in clear, accessible language. Confirm diagnoses with customers to ensure full transparency and approval before proceeding with any work.
• Service Recommendations: Provide detailed information about required services and repairs, including timelines, costs, and benefits. Introduce customers to new or additional services that may enhance their vehicle’s performance, safety, or longevity, thereby supporting upselling opportunities.
• Appointment Management: Greet customers warmly, assess their needs, and efficiently schedule appointments to minimize wait times. Coordinate vehicle drop-off and pick-up logistics, ensuring a smooth and convenient experience for customers.
• Inquiry Resolution: Address customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns with professionalism and empathy. Serve as the first point of contact for any issues related to service outcomes, schedules, or vehicle status, and escalate complex matters to management when necessary.
• Follow-Up and Feedback: Proactively follow up with customers regarding estimate approvals, service progress updates, and post-service feedback. Ensure that all work is completed to the customer’s satisfaction and address any follow-up needs promptly.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an automotive service environment, preferably in a customer-facing role such as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, or similar position.
• Strong technical aptitude with a solid understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair processes. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software is a plus.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a clear and concise manner to non-technical customers.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach to handling inquiries and resolving issues.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and software for appointment scheduling, customer records, and service documentation.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in automotive service or related fields are advantageous.
