Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Customs Classification Broker to join our dynamic team at Qureos Inc. Based in the vibrant city of Dammam, this role is pivotal in ensuring seamless international trade operations by accurately classifying goods for customs purposes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of global trade regulations, tariff codes, and compliance requirements to facilitate efficient customs clearance and minimize potential risks for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tariff Classification: Accurately classify imported and exported goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) and other relevant customs regulations, ensuring compliance with local and international trade laws.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of evolving customs laws, trade agreements, and tariff policies to provide up-to-date guidance and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare and review essential customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin, to support smooth clearance processes.
  • Client Consultation: Collaborate closely with clients to gather detailed product information, resolve classification discrepancies, and offer strategic advice on customs-related matters to optimize their supply chain efficiency.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential compliance risks and proactively recommend solutions to avoid delays, penalties, or disruptions in customs clearance.
  • Communication and Coordination: Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to resolve queries, expedite clearances, and maintain transparent communication channels.
  • Audit Support: Assist in customs audits by providing accurate records, documentation, and explanations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in international trade, customs compliance, supply chain management, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) are highly advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in customs classification, preferably within a brokerage firm, logistics company, or multinational corporation. Prior exposure to Middle Eastern trade regulations is a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of customs software, tariff databases, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with platforms such as Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) or similar systems is beneficial.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex trade regulations to ensure accurate classification and compliance.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact with clients, customs officials, and internal teams effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to resolving classification challenges and navigating regulatory hurdles with efficiency and precision.
