Key Responsibilities

As an Accountant at RAYA GROUP, your core responsibilities will include:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulations.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Post journal entries, verify transactions, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer billing. Ensure timely collections and disbursements while maintaining strong vendor and client relationships.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations. Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure full compliance and minimize tax liabilities.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and financial forecasts. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Internal Controls & Audits: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets. Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and records are audit-ready.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis, cost analysis, and financial performance reviews to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Present findings to management in a clear and concise manner.
• Payroll Processing: Manage payroll functions, including salary calculations, deductions, and compliance with labor laws. Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of employee salaries.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or group environment. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and familiarity with accounting software. Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Arabic is required; additional languages are a valuable asset.
