Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Pavement Lead Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Lead the development of pavement designs, specifications, and construction methodologies that align with industry best practices and project requirements.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of pavement-related projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including civil engineers, architects, and contractors, to integrate pavement solutions seamlessly into broader infrastructure initiatives.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices in pavement engineering, such as recycled materials, low-carbon solutions, and advanced modeling techniques. Evaluate emerging trends and recommend strategies to enhance the longevity and resilience of pavement systems.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pavement designs and construction activities comply with local, regional, and international regulations, including safety, environmental, and quality standards. Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks associated with pavement projects and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure project success. Conduct thorough site investigations and feasibility studies to inform decision-making processes.
• Client Engagement: Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and presenting solutions that meet their operational and strategic objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster long-term partnerships and business growth.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field is required. An advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., P.E., PMP) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in pavement engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity. Prior involvement in large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the Middle East or similar regions, is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in pavement design software (e.g., AASHTOWare, AutoCAD Civil 3D, LIRA) and familiarity with industry standards (e.g., AASHTO, ASTM, Eurocodes). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management abilities. Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams, managing stakeholders, and delivering results under pressure.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
