Role Overview

As a Regulatory Affairs Intern in Riyadh, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the entry, maintenance, and accuracy of Unique Device Identification (UDI) data within the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) Saudi-DI system. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in implementing SFDA MDS-REQ-007 guidance while gaining exposure to the regulatory landscape in Saudi Arabia. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with local and international regulatory standards, contributing to the delivery of safe and effective medical technologies to patients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• UDI Data Management: Enter and update UDI data in the Saudi-DI system in strict alignment with SFDA requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness of submissions.
• Documentation and Tracking: Maintain UDI trackers and ensure meticulous documentation of all regulatory submissions, facilitating transparency and traceability.
• Regulatory Support: Assist the regulatory affairs team with UDI-related submissions, updates, and compliance checks, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, missing data, or inconsistencies, fostering a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance data accuracy and streamline regulatory processes, contributing to operational efficiency.
• Compliance Assurance: Follow established quality and regulatory standards to ensure all activities meet the highest levels of compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in regulatory affairs, life sciences, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
• Core Skills:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities to manage complex data sets.
  • Ability to follow structured procedures and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements or medical device industry standards, particularly in the Middle East region.
• Professional Interest: A demonstrated passion for regulatory affairs and compliance within the healthcare industry, with a desire to contribute to innovative medical technologies.
