Engineer - Field Services

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer - Field Services to join our dynamic team at Microland in Jeddah. Key Responsibilities

The Engineer - Field Services will be responsible for a wide range of technical and operational duties, including:

• On-Site Support and Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs for hardware, software, and network systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnosing complex technical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions to restore services promptly and minimize disruptions to business operations.
• System Upgrades and Installations: Deploying, configuring, and upgrading hardware and software components, including servers, storage systems, networking devices, and security solutions, in alignment with industry best practices and organizational standards.
• Client Interaction and Communication: Serving as the primary technical liaison between Microland and our clients, providing clear and professional updates on service status, progress, and resolutions while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of service activities, including work orders, incident reports, and maintenance logs, to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Working closely with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and support, to share insights, escalate critical issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adherence to Safety and Compliance Standards: Ensuring all field activities comply with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards to mitigate risks and uphold organizational integrity.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CompTIA A+, or ITIL, are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with hardware and software troubleshooting, network infrastructure, server administration, and system monitoring tools. Familiarity with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies is a plus.
• Field Experience: Proven track record in field service engineering, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the IT, telecommunications, or infrastructure sectors.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently and implement effective solutions under pressure.
• Communication and Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders. A collaborative approach to problem-solving and knowledge sharing is essential.
• Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to work in dynamic environments, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving technological landscapes while maintaining a high level of service quality.
