Accountant-General (Saudi Nationality)

Position Overview

Le Méridien in Saudi Arabia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant-General to join our dynamic finance team. Key Responsibilities

The Accountant-General will be entrusted with a comprehensive range of financial duties, including but not limited to:

• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements. Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and reconciled promptly. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent discrepancies.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with senior management to develop, monitor, and analyze annual budgets and financial forecasts. Provide insightful recommendations to optimize resource allocation and improve financial performance.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure full adherence to local tax laws and regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returns. Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to minimize tax liabilities and mitigate risks.
• Audit Coordination: Lead the coordination of internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings proactively. Implement corrective actions to enhance financial processes and controls.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow projections and liquidity to ensure the company maintains optimal financial health. Recommend strategies to improve working capital and reduce unnecessary expenditures.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for financial inquiries from department heads, senior management, and external partners. Present financial insights and performance metrics in a clear and actionable manner.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce operational costs. Recommend and implement best practices to drive continuous improvement within the finance function.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within the hospitality, corporate, or service industry.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, local tax regulations, and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems is essential.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present it in a clear, concise manner.
• Strong leadership qualities, with the capacity to mentor and guide junior finance team members while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal, is required. Additional languages are considered a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with advanced skills in financial modeling and data analysis.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and adherence to corporate governance principles.
