Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting the organization’s financial health. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements. Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to stakeholders, including management, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
• General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and classified. Maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses to support financial analysis and decision-making.
• Tax Compliance: Manage tax filings, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations. Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations, minimizing risks and optimizing tax efficiency.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets, analyze variances, and provide actionable insights to improve financial planning and resource allocation.
• Internal Controls and Audit Support: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings promptly.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce operational costs. Implement best practices in financial management to support the organization’s growth objectives.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Delegate tasks effectively and provide guidance to ensure the team meets deadlines and maintains high standards of accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CMA) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role. Experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is a strong advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and financial modeling.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of IFRS, local accounting standards, and tax regulations in Saudi Arabia. Familiarity with Zakat, Tax Authority (ZATCA) requirements is beneficial.
• Soft Skills: Leadership, organizational, and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
