Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Cost Manager at Hill International, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial aspects of our projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cost Control and Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and maintain comprehensive cost control systems to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets. Analyze cost variances and implement corrective actions to mitigate financial risks.
• Financial Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare accurate financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses to support executive decision-making. Generate detailed financial reports for stakeholders, including clients, senior management, and project teams.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential financial risks and develop proactive strategies to minimize their impact on project profitability. Collaborate with project managers to assess cost implications of design changes, schedule adjustments, and procurement decisions.
• Procurement and Contract Administration: Work closely with procurement teams to evaluate supplier contracts, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure compliance with financial policies. Oversee the financial aspects of contract administration, including change orders and claims management.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between finance, project management, and client teams to ensure alignment on financial objectives. Provide expert guidance on cost-related matters to project teams and senior leadership.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance cost management processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency. Implement best practices in financial management to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in cost management, financial analysis, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role within the construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., Primavera P6, SAP, or similar), advanced Excel skills, and strong knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting tools. Familiarity with ERP systems and data analytics is a plus.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
• Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at all levels. A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction cost structures, procurement processes, and contractual frameworks in the Middle East or international markets is preferred.
