Key Responsibilities

As a Fund Accounting Officer, your core responsibilities will include:

• Fund Valuation & Reporting: Prepare and review accurate and timely fund valuations, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This includes calculating net asset values (NAVs), reconciling investment transactions, and generating comprehensive financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Compliance & Governance: Monitor and ensure compliance with local and international accounting principles, including GAAP and IFRS. Collaborate with compliance teams to address any discrepancies, implement corrective actions, and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate risks.
• Client & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with portfolio managers, auditors, and clients to resolve accounting queries, provide financial insights, and support decision-making processes. Your ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely will be essential in fostering strong client relationships.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency within fund accounting processes by leveraging technology, automation, and best practices. Your contributions will help streamline operations, reduce errors, and improve overall productivity.
• Audit & Regulatory Support: Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and records are accurate, complete, and readily available. Stay abreast of evolving regulatory changes and industry trends to proactively adapt accounting practices.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in fund accounting, preferably within the asset management or financial services industry.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools. Experience with platforms such as Bloomberg, Advent Geneva, or similar is advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, enabling you to identify discrepancies and resolve complex accounting issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and interact with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic financial environment.
