MRO Senior, Cost Controller

Role Overview

International Maritime Industries is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRO Senior Cost Controller to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in overseeing and optimizing maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) cost management processes to ensure financial efficiency and operational excellence within our maritime industry operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cost accounting, financial analysis, and MRO procurement, with a keen eye for identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Management and Analysis: Develop, implement, and monitor MRO cost control strategies to align with organizational financial objectives. Conduct detailed cost analyses, variance assessments, and performance evaluations to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare accurate MRO budgets and forecasts. Ensure alignment between financial projections and operational requirements while maintaining cost discipline across all MRO activities.
• Procurement and Vendor Management: Work closely with procurement teams to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, vendors, and contractors. Evaluate vendor performance, ensure contract compliance, and drive cost-effective procurement decisions without compromising quality or service levels.
• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and present comprehensive MRO cost reports, financial statements, and performance metrics to senior management. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards while maintaining transparent and accurate financial records.
• Process Optimization: Lead initiatives to streamline MRO processes, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency. Implement best practices in cost control, inventory management, and asset utilization to maximize return on investment (ROI).
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between finance, operations, and procurement teams to foster a culture of cost awareness and accountability. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or MRO cost control, preferably within the maritime, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors. Experience in a senior or leadership role is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with MRO software tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive collaborative solutions. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
• Leadership and Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior staff, and contribute to long-term strategic planning initiatives. A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
