Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Civil Engineer at SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, design, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Project Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Oversee project schedules, resource allocation, and deliverables to meet client expectations.
• Technical Expertise: Provide advanced technical guidance in civil engineering disciplines, including structural design, transportation systems, water resources, and geotechnical engineering. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and value engineering to optimize project outcomes.
• Design and Documentation: Develop detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications in compliance with international standards and local regulations. Review and approve technical documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
• Client and Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary technical liaison with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Present engineering solutions, address concerns, and foster strong relationships to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement robust quality control processes, conduct site inspections, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. Identify and mitigate potential risks to maintain project integrity.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering. Propose innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, CEng) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role. Experience in infrastructure projects, such as highways, bridges, airports, or water treatment facilities, is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ETABS, SAP2000) and strong knowledge of local and international codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, Eurocodes).
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
