About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Specialist to join our team in Saudi Arabia. In this critical role, you will oversee and supervise geotechnical site activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Site Supervision: Lead and supervise geotechnical site investigations, soil testing, and foundation construction activities. Ensure adherence to approved methodologies and project timelines.
• Technical Oversight: Review and validate geotechnical reports, soil analysis, and foundation designs prepared by internal or external teams. Provide expert recommendations to optimize project outcomes.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce rigorous quality control measures during all geotechnical operations. Identify potential risks or deviations and propose corrective actions to mitigate them.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all site activities comply with local, national, and international geotechnical standards, including those set by relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia. Maintain meticulous documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to align geotechnical activities with broader project objectives. Facilitate clear communication to resolve technical challenges efficiently.
• Risk Management: Assess geotechnical risks associated with site conditions and construction methods. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard project timelines and budgets.
• Innovation and Best Practices: Stay abreast of emerging geotechnical technologies, methodologies, and industry trends. Recommend and integrate innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., P.E., CEng) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven expertise in geotechnical site investigations, soil mechanics, and foundation design, with hands-on experience in construction site supervision.
• Strong knowledge of local and international geotechnical standards, including those applicable in Saudi Arabia (e.g., GSO, ASTM, Eurocode).
• Proficiency in geotechnical software tools (e.g., PLAXIS, GEO5, AutoCAD Civil 3D) and data analysis techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex geotechnical data and make informed decisions under pressure.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous but not mandatory.
