Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Planning: Develop comprehensive irrigation system designs, including sprinkler, drip, and subsurface systems, tailored to the specific needs of projects. Utilize advanced software tools to create detailed plans, ensuring optimal water distribution and efficiency.
• Project Implementation: Oversee the installation and deployment of irrigation systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Technical Analysis and Optimization: Conduct thorough assessments of existing irrigation systems to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Utilize data-driven approaches to enhance system performance, reduce water waste, and maximize crop yield or landscape health.
• Regulatory Compliance and Sustainability: Ensure all irrigation projects comply with local and international regulations, including water usage policies and environmental guidelines. Promote sustainable practices, such as water recycling and precision irrigation, to align with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, government agencies, and internal teams to provide expert guidance on irrigation best practices. Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and technical documentation to communicate project progress and outcomes effectively.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Develop and implement maintenance schedules for irrigation systems, including routine inspections, repairs, and upgrades. Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in irrigation engineering are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in irrigation engineering, with a proven track record in designing and managing large-scale irrigation projects. Experience in arid or semi-arid regions is a significant advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: Profound knowledge of irrigation technologies, including automated control systems, soil moisture sensors, and weather-based controllers. Familiarity with CAD software, GIS tools, and hydraulic modeling is essential.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) or Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) are preferred.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
• Compliance and Safety: In-depth understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to irrigation projects. Commitment to maintaining a safe and sustainable work environment.
