Assistant Manager – Quality Operations

The successful candidate will oversee quality control operations in KSA and govern supplier and QC performance in India. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with food safety standards, monitoring AL Maha and supplier performance, and driving operational quality excellence across warehouses and supply chain operations.

• India Supplier Quality Governance:
• Own and enforce the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all QC reports; challenge discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
• Conduct periodic supplier audits and inspections at origin, including random sampling and on-site verification of practices.
• Challenge compliance with agreed SLAs and quality standards at every stage of the supply chain.
• Lead formal performance reviews with AL Maha; enforce accountability and implementation of corrective actions.
• Identify deviations and inconsistencies in supplier reports, escalate critical issues, and maintain an audit trail of findings and resolutions.
• Conduct regular visits to India to engage directly with AL Maha and suppliers, validate on-ground quality practices, and represent Mayar’s quality standards.
• Supplier Qualification & Performance Management:
• Support supplier qualification and evaluation processes, including audit participation, data analysis, and scorecard development.
• Track and report supplier performance metrics, drive CAPAs, and ensure raw material quality consistency.
• Coordinate with procurement and the AL Maha Team to address supplier-related quality concerns and supply risks.
• Maintain and continuously improve the Supplier Quality Management framework.
• Quality Issue Management & Escalation:
• Own the tracking and resolution of all supplier-related quality deviations, complaints, and non-conformities.
• Lead root cause analysis for recurring supplier quality failures and ensure prompt escalation of critical issues.
• Prepare and present supplier quality performance reports to senior management.
• Continuous Improvement – Supply Chain Quality:
• Identify systemic quality gaps in the India supply chain and design corrective programmes.
• Drive initiatives to reduce rejection rates, reprocessing costs, and inbound quality variability.
• Standardise supplier audit criteria, QC reporting formats, and inspection protocols across all origins.
• Leverage quality trend data to recommend data-driven improvements.
• KSA Warehouse Quality Oversight:
• Monitor compliance with quality standards across KSA warehouse operations.
• Conduct periodic field visits to warehouses to verify execution of quality standards and identify gaps.
• Validate integrity of warehouse inspection reports, fumigation records, and quality documentation; escalate discrepancies to the Manager.
• Laboratory Operations Supervision:
• Supervise daily lab operations, ensuring all testing is conducted per approved SOPs and standards.
• Review and validate test results for raw materials and finished goods prior to final reporting.
• Ensure calibration, maintenance, and proper utilisation of laboratory equipment.
• Guide lab technicians in troubleshooting test-related issues.
• Leadership & Cross-functional Coordination:
• Act as deputy to the Senior Quality & Transformation Manager; make operational quality decisions in manager’s absence.
• Lead quality reviews and escalation forums.
• Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, operations, and sales teams on quality alignment.
• Provide technical quality guidance to the team.
