Senior MEP Project Manager

Position Overview

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company, a leading construction and engineering firm based in Saudi Arabia, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Project Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex MEP projects, ensuring adherence to strict quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing large-scale MEP installations within commercial, residential, or industrial sectors, coupled with exceptional leadership and communication skills to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead and supervise MEP project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, to ensure seamless project execution from inception to completion.
• Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in alignment with client requirements and company objectives, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and resolve conflicts.
• Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance on MEP system designs, ensuring compliance with international codes, regulations, and industry best practices, including NFPA, ASHRAE, and local Saudi building standards.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities, fostering strong relationships and ensuring transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to uphold the highest standards of workmanship, safety, and sustainability, conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential issues proactively.
• Budget and Resource Management: Monitor project expenditures, resource allocation, and procurement activities to optimize efficiency and maximize profitability, while identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Champion a culture of safety by enforcing strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies, conducting toolbox talks, and ensuring all personnel comply with local and international safety regulations.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings, and present regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, LEED) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in MEP project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the construction or engineering sector in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, and low-voltage systems, with hands-on experience using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, AutoCAD, Revit) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and foster a collaborative work environment that drives performance and innovation.
• Communication and Negotiation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies in both Arabic and English.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset and proactive approach to troubleshooting complex challenges, ensuring projects remain on track and within scope.
• Certifications: Valid professional certifications such as Certified MEP Project Manager (CMPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent are advantageous.
