Key Responsibilities

In this full-stack role, you’ll take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and production support. Your responsibilities will include:

• Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails services that handle critical financial transactions with uncompromising accuracy and reliability.
• Full-Stack Ownership: Lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring seamless integration of frontend and backend components while adhering to best practices in code quality and maintainability.
• System Integrations: Develop and maintain robust connections with both internal and external systems, ensuring smooth data flow and operational efficiency.
• Technical Leadership: Contribute to architectural decisions, mentor junior engineers, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize systems for high throughput and low latency, ensuring peak performance under heavy transaction loads.
• Production Support: Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in real-time, maintaining system stability and uptime.

Qualifications

We’re seeking a **mid-to-senior-level Full-Stack Engineer** with a strong backend foundation and hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails. Ideal candidates will have:

• 3–5 years of professional full-stack development experience, with a deep specialization in backend systems.
• Proven expertise in Ruby on Rails, including API design, data modeling, and relational database management.
• Experience with high-traffic, high-throughput systems, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability under pressure.
• Comfortability across the full stack, including the ability to design, develop, and debug frontend features when necessary.
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering, including testing (unit, integration, and E2E), system design, and debugging.
• An ownership mindset, with the ability to translate ambiguous requirements into well-structured, production-ready solutions.

Nice-to-Have Skills

While not mandatory, experience in the following areas will be highly valued:

• Fintech or payments experience, particularly in BNPL, POS, or other money-movement systems.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and experience optimizing relational databases for performance.
• Familiarity with React for frontend development and integration.
• Experience with cloud platforms, such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) or AWS, for deployment and infrastructure management.
• Background in high-reliability systems, including experience with fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and monitoring tools.
