As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and skilled Interface Engineer to join our team for a prestigious road project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities

The Interface Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless coordination and integration across multiple engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Technical Interface Management: Coordinate and manage technical interfaces between various engineering disciplines, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and landscape, as well as contractors, subcontractors, utility providers, consultants, and project stakeholders. Ensure alignment and resolve conflicts to maintain project momentum.
  • Issue Tracking and Resolution: Identify, document, and track interface-related issues that may impact design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities. Develop and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions to project timelines.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain and update interface registers, action trackers, and coordination reports to provide clear visibility into interface status and progress. Prepare technical reports, meeting minutes, presentations, and management updates to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Design Consistency and Review: Review engineering deliverables to ensure consistency and compliance with project specifications across all disciplines. Facilitate multidisciplinary design reviews, technical workshops, and coordination meetings to foster collaboration and resolve discrepancies.
  • Stakeholder and Authority Coordination: Act as a liaison between project teams and external stakeholders, including utility authorities and regulatory bodies. Coordinate third-party and utility interfaces to ensure compliance with project schedules, technical requirements, and authority regulations. Assist in obtaining necessary approvals and permits.
  • Risk Management and Mitigation: Monitor interface-related risks and support the development of mitigation and recovery plans. Proactively identify potential issues and implement strategies to prevent delays and cost overruns.
  • Process Improvement: Support the Interface Manager in developing and implementing interface management procedures and workflows. Continuously refine processes to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability across the project.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, highway, railway, metro, airport, or major transportation projects. Demonstrated expertise in multidisciplinary coordination and interface management is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: A strong understanding of engineering design, construction methodologies, and project delivery workflows. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation with precision.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven experience working with utility authorities, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills to navigate complex project dynamics.
  • Project Controls and Risk Management: Familiarity with project controls, risk management, change management, and document control processes. Ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Technical Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering document management systems. Strong command of English, both written and spoken, is required for effective collaboration in a global project environment.
  • Regional Experience: Previous experience in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia, is highly advantageous. Familiarity with local regulations, cultural nuances, and project execution standards is preferred.
