Production Engineer, Mechanical

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Engineer, Mechanical to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in the construction and installation of mechanical systems for new build rigs, working closely with the Superintendent to ensure seamless execution of projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in planning, coordinating, and supervising mechanical equipment installation, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and project timelines. Key Responsibilities

• Project Supervision and Monitoring: Oversee the progress of mechanical systems and construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and project requirements. Monitor work execution to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
• Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement detailed work plans, including the establishment of Ready for Operation (ROS) dates for all equipment in alignment with project timelines. Ensure timely delivery of equipment and resources to meet project milestones.
• Equipment Installation and Handover: Coordinate the installation of mechanical equipment and oversee the Mechanical Completion process to facilitate a smooth transition to Commissioning activities. Ensure all systems are installed and tested according to specifications.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that all mechanical works adhere strictly to the latest approved construction drawings, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), procedures, and site instructions. Maintain rigorous quality control to uphold project standards and regulatory requirements.
• Resource Management: Assess project requirements and establish manpower and resource allocation plans to meet schedule demands. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to secure necessary equipment and facilities for efficient project execution.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the mechanical team and other departments, including design, procurement, and commissioning, to ensure cohesive project delivery. Facilitate complex lifting operations and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient execution.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company in interactions with client representatives and subcontractors, addressing project issues and ensuring alignment with client expectations. Foster strong relationships to enhance collaboration and project success.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or an equivalent technical qualification from a recognized institution.
• Professional Certifications: Professional certifications or accreditations in mechanical engineering or related fields are advantageous and highly preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 9 years of hands-on experience in shipyard operations, with a strong preference for involvement in offshore activities or rig building. Prior experience in managing high-value, technically complex projects within the offshore or marine sector is essential.
