Key Responsibilities

The Telecom Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of technical and operational duties, including:

• Network Design and Deployment: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, plan, and deploy telecom networks, including fiber-optic, microwave, and cellular systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational objectives.
• System Installation and Configuration: Oversee the installation, integration, and configuration of telecom equipment, such as switches, routers, base stations, and transmission systems, while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Utilize advanced monitoring tools to assess network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective measures to enhance efficiency, latency, and uptime.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve technical issues across telecom infrastructure, including hardware failures, signal interference, and software glitches, to minimize downtime and maintain service continuity.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all telecom systems and processes adhere to local and international regulations, including spectrum licensing, health and safety standards, and environmental policies. Maintain accurate records of network configurations, maintenance logs, and compliance reports.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to coordinate project timelines, resolve technical challenges, and deliver high-quality telecom solutions that meet business and customer needs.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in telecommunications, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance network capabilities and support digital transformation initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• A bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in telecom network design, installation, maintenance, or operations, preferably within the oil and gas, corporate, or industrial sectors.
• Proficiency in telecom protocols, standards, and technologies, including VoIP, SIP, MPLS, SD-WAN, LTE/5G, and fiber-optic systems.
• Hands-on experience with telecom equipment and tools, such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and RF planning software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a focus on delivering results in a collaborative environment.
• Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, Huawei HCNP, or similar, are highly desirable.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
