Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Medical Equipment Management: Lead the inspection, testing, calibration, and preventive maintenance of a wide range of medical devices, including imaging systems, patient monitors, surgical equipment, and life-support devices, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as JCI, FDA, and ISO.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor and supervise a team of clinical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and adherence to best practices in healthcare technology management.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all medical equipment meets local and international regulatory requirements, including documentation, risk assessments, and safety protocols, to mitigate potential hazards and maintain accreditation standards.
• Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and biomedical staff to assess equipment needs, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement solutions that enhance clinical workflows and patient safety.
• Technology Integration: Evaluate and recommend new medical technologies and equipment upgrades, providing cost-benefit analyses and supporting implementation to improve diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities within the healthcare facility.
• Emergency Response: Serve as a key resource during critical situations, such as equipment failures or emergencies, to ensure rapid resolution and minimize disruptions to patient care.
• Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for clinical staff on the proper use, maintenance, and safety protocols of medical equipment, promoting a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of five years of progressive experience in clinical engineering, preferably within a hospital or healthcare setting, is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) are highly desirable. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential. Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
