Role Overview

The Planning Engineer in Riyadh will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of ICT and construction projects by developing, maintaining, and optimizing detailed project plans and schedules. This full-time, on-site position requires a proactive professional who will work closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure the timely allocation of resources, monitor project progress, and proactively identify potential risks or deviations from established timelines. The Planning Engineer will be responsible for generating comprehensive reports, interactive dashboards, and accurate forecasts to support robust project control and informed decision-making. Additionally, the role includes optimizing production planning and workflow efficiency to enhance overall project performance. Effective communication with internal stakeholders and clients is essential to ensure alignment with project scope, budget constraints, and quality standards, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of planning processes and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using advanced planning tools and methodologies to ensure timely execution and resource optimization.
• Resource Management: Coordinate with project teams and suppliers to allocate resources efficiently, ensuring alignment with project milestones and business objectives.
• Progress Monitoring and Risk Management: Track project performance, identify deviations from planned timelines, and proactively manage risks to mitigate potential delays or cost overruns.
• Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare and present clear, data-driven reports, dashboards, and forecasts to support project control, stakeholder communication, and executive decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of planning activities with project execution and delivery.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous enhancement of planning processes, tools, and methodologies to drive operational efficiency and project success.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards, safety protocols, and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong foundation in planning and production planning, with the ability to develop, update, and optimize project schedules and resource plans. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in ICT, construction, or related engineering environments, along with a solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field is required, though equivalent practical experience will also be considered. The ability to work on-site in Saudi Arabia, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to dynamic project requirements is crucial. Familiarity with relevant industry standards, safety practices, and contractual procedures is advantageous.
