Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer to uphold the highest standards of quality across all project activities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with technical specifications, industry regulations, and client expectations. By developing and implementing robust quality management systems, conducting rigorous inspections, and maintaining comprehensive documentation, this professional will contribute to the delivery of superior construction and landscape projects. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Planning and Implementation: Develop and execute project-specific quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and standardized procedures to ensure adherence to quality benchmarks. Create detailed checklists to streamline inspection processes and maintain consistency across project sites.
• Compliance and Inspection Oversight: Conduct thorough inspections of materials, workmanship, and site activities to verify compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and industry standards. Identify deviations and recommend corrective measures to mitigate risks and ensure project integrity.
• Documentation and Approval: Review, validate, and approve critical project documentation, including material submittals, method statements, shop drawings, and quality-related records. Ensure all submissions align with project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Non-Conformance Management: Monitor and document non-conformances (NCRs), perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality discrepancies. Track resolution progress to prevent recurrence and enhance project outcomes.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and third-party agencies to facilitate seamless communication and resolve quality-related issues promptly. Serve as a liaison to ensure all parties are aligned with quality objectives.
• Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of inspections, test results, quality reports, and compliance documentation. Prepare comprehensive reports for internal audits, client reviews, and regulatory submissions to support project transparency and accountability.
• Laboratory Testing Coordination: Oversee and verify that laboratory testing for materials such as soil, concrete, and water is conducted in accordance with project specifications. Ensure test results are accurately documented and utilized to inform quality decisions.
• Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Participate in internal audits and quality improvement programs to identify opportunities for enhancing processes, reducing defects, and optimizing resource utilization. Contribute to the development of best practices across project sites.
• Material Verification: Inspect and verify that all materials delivered to the site meet approved specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. Reject non-compliant materials and coordinate replacements to maintain project quality.
• Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensure that all QA/QC activities align with established safety protocols and environmental regulations. Promote a culture of safety and sustainability within the project team.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quality Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience as a QA/QC Engineer in construction, infrastructure, landscape, or related industries. Experience in large-scale projects is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 standards, and familiarity with inspection methodologies, testing procedures, and material specifications. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, project specifications, and regulatory documents.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement data-driven solutions to improve quality outcomes. Proficient in conducting root-cause analysis and developing corrective action plans.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate quality requirements, report findings, and liaise with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and influence positive change.
• Organizational and Time Management: Capacity to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and maintain accuracy in documentation and reporting under pressure. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Certifications: Professional certifications in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, ISO implementation, or related disciplines are advantageous. Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor are considered a plus.
