Senior Accountant – Financial Leadership Opportunity in Riyadh

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at eSense in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role is designed for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and strategic financial management. The ideal candidate will play a key leadership role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving financial integrity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of financial duties, including but not limited to:

• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all applicable accounting principles.
• General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring proper classification, reconciliation, and integrity of financial data. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with precision and efficiency.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with senior management to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and financial forecasts. Provide strategic insights to support data-driven decision-making and resource allocation.
• Tax Planning & Compliance: Manage tax filings, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations. Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure full compliance and optimize tax positions.
• Internal Controls & Audit Support: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks. Lead internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and addressing findings proactively.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and professional growth. Delegate tasks effectively to ensure operational excellence within the finance department.
• Strategic Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization or revenue enhancement. Present actionable insights to stakeholders to support long-term business objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting or supervisory role. Experience in the technology, consulting, or professional services sector is a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly in financial modeling and data analysis. Familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.
• Analytical & Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Saudi Arabian accounting standards, tax laws, and corporate governance requirements. Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred.
