Business Analyst (Capital Markets) – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst specializing in Capital Markets to join a leading organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technology solutions, ensuring the delivery of robust and compliant platforms tailored to the Saudi capital markets ecosystem. With a deep understanding of local market regulations, trading operations, and post-trade processes, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, efficiency, and regulatory adherence in a dynamic financial landscape.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Requirements Management: Lead the collection, analysis, validation, and documentation of business and functional requirements to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate requirement workshops, stakeholder interviews, and business process analysis to gather comprehensive insights and foster collaborative decision-making.
• Documentation & Specification: Develop high-quality Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specification Documents (FSD), user stories, process flows, and use cases to guide development and testing phases.
• Gap Analysis & Solution Design: Conduct thorough gap analyses between current and future business processes, and support solution design by working closely with architects and development teams to ensure technical feasibility and business alignment.
• Testing & Deployment Support: Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production rollout activities to validate solutions and ensure seamless implementation.
• Quality Assurance Coordination: Collaborate with QA teams to ensure business requirements are accurately tested and meet compliance standards, including those set by the Capital Market Authority (CMA).
• Issue Resolution & Process Improvement: Support production issue analysis, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Regulatory & Governance Compliance: Ensure all solutions and processes adhere to CMA regulations and internal governance frameworks, mitigating risks and maintaining industry best practices.
• Change Management & Training: Assist in change management initiatives, user training, and business readiness activities to facilitate smooth adoption of new systems and processes.
• Methodology Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in working within Agile or Waterfall project environments, tailoring approaches to meet project requirements and stakeholder expectations.

Required Skills & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Professional Experience: 7–15 years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong focus on Capital Markets projects in Saudi Arabia.
• Capital Markets Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of the capital markets lifecycle, including but not limited to equity trading, fixed income, bonds, Sukuk, mutual funds, ETFs, IPO processes, derivatives, asset management, portfolio management, order management, trade lifecycle, clearing & settlement, custody, corporate actions, market data, risk management, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• Analytical & Documentation Skills: Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements with clarity and precision, including BRDs, FRDs/FSDs, user stories, process flows, and use cases.
• Testing & Deployment Support: Experience in supporting SIT, UAT, and production deployments, ensuring solutions meet business and regulatory standards.
• Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with business users, product owners, project managers, and technical teams.
• Methodology Proficiency: Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to adapt to evolving project dynamics.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Capital Market Authority (CMA) regulations and local market operations within Saudi Arabia.

Preferred Technical Knowledge

While not mandatory, familiarity with the following tools and concepts will enhance your candidacy:

• SQL for data validation and analysis.
• API and system integration concepts.
• Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile project management tools.
• Microsoft Visio or equivalent process modeling tools.
• Trading platforms and capital market applications.
• Data analysis and reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications will be given preference:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis), Agile Business Analysis, or Scrum certifications.
• Capital Markets-specific certifications, demonstrating specialized expertise in the domain.

Mandatory Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

• 7–15 years of overall Business Analysis experience.
• Direct experience working on Capital Markets projects in Saudi Arabia.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
• Willingness and ability to work onsite in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
• Prior experience collaborating with banking, financial services, or capital market organizations within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
