Software Operations Engineer – Saudi Arabia (Smart Warehouse Project)
الوصف الوظيفي
Software Operations Engineer – Drive Excellence in Smart Warehouse Automation
Join our groundbreaking smart warehouse project in Saudi Arabia as a **Software Operations Engineer**, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless, 24/7 operations at the intersection of cutting-edge automation, industrial gateways, and cross-vendor system integration. This is an opportunity to contribute to a transformative initiative that merges advanced technology with logistics efficiency, while collaborating with a global team and on-site experts.
As part of our **Software Ops Team in China**, you will serve as the technical liaison between software systems, hardware infrastructure, and third-party vendors, ensuring operational resilience and continuous improvement. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the stability, performance, and scalability of multi-system environments, including Lenovo business systems, self-developed industrial gateways, warehouse execution systems (WES/WCS), and automated guided vehicle (AGV) dispatching platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will encompass a dynamic blend of technical oversight, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence:
- Multi-System Software Operations & Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the daily operations of critical warehouse automation systems, including Lenovo enterprise solutions, industrial gateways, WES/WCS platforms, and AGV dispatching systems. Collaborate with OEM technical teams (Lenovo, WCS, AGV vendors) to diagnose and resolve cross-system interface issues, data transmission failures, task dispatching errors, and business process bottlenecks. Support system version upgrades, conduct on-site validations, and gather user feedback to drive continuous product enhancement.
- Software-Hardware Joint Troubleshooting: Partner with network and hardware engineers to investigate and resolve software communication failures stemming from servers, switches, wireless networks, or automation equipment. Conduct root-cause analysis across software logic, data anomalies, network connectivity, and hardware defects, ensuring swift and effective issue resolution. Document post-mortem reports for AGV and automation equipment failures, and refine troubleshooting methodologies to prevent recurring issues.
- Server & Software Infrastructure Management: Assist infrastructure teams in performing routine health checks, log analysis, and data backup validations for Windows and Linux servers. Oversee high-availability (HA) status monitoring, handle system crashes, and address service startup failures at the software level. Ensure timely and reliable backups for all warehouse systems while maintaining compliance-ready logs.
- End-User Software Support: Provide technical support for warehouse devices, including PCs, PDAs, scanning terminals, and production line equipment, resolving issues such as EWM/WES login failures and printing errors. Manage terminal software deployment, permission configurations, and network onboarding for new devices to ensure seamless user experience.
- Documentation & Asset Management: Maintain up-to-date system interface inventories, software version logs, troubleshooting records, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Keep system topology diagrams, interface mapping tables, and configuration documents current to facilitate knowledge sharing and future scalability.
- Emergency Response & Cross-Team Coordination: Provide **7×8 on-site standby support** for critical production line software failures, ensuring rapid recovery and minimal downtime. Escalate high-priority issues to Level-2 support teams in China and coordinate with network and hardware teams to achieve joint resolutions. Standardize O&M procedures for third-party vendors and conduct regular status syncs to align all stakeholders toward operational goals.
Qualifications & Skills
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong technical background in software operations, automation, and logistics systems. Ideal candidates will possess:
- Education & Experience: A **Bachelor’s degree or higher** in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Logistics Automation, Mechatronics, Network Engineering, or a related field. **1–3 years of hands-on experience** in implementing or maintaining **WMS/WCS/WES, AGV dispatching, or industrial gateway systems**, with a preference for candidates who have worked on automated production lines or overseas project sites.
- Technical Proficiency:
- **Cross-System Troubleshooting:** Ability to analyze interface logs, message payloads, and API errors to independently resolve cross-system data exchange issues. Deep understanding of **WES/WCS/AGV business logic** to handle routine process failures with minimal supervision.
- **Server & Systems Administration:** Hands-on experience with **Windows and Linux operations**, including system logs, service status monitoring, and performance metrics. Familiarity with **high-availability (HA) architectures** and backup fundamentals.
- **Hardware Collaboration:** Basic awareness of **networking and automation hardware** to support joint diagnostics with hardware engineers. (Nice-to-have)
- **End-User Support:** Proficiency in troubleshooting **PC/PDA terminal software**, permission configurations, and network integrations. (Nice-to-have)
- Collaborative Mindset: Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with **OEM vendors, on-site engineers, and cross-functional teams**. Ability to document processes clearly and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
If you are passionate about driving innovation in smart logistics and thrive in a fast-paced, globally connected environment, we invite you to be part of our mission to redefine warehouse automation.
