Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Equipment Sterilization Technician, your core responsibilities will include:

• Decontamination and Sterilization: Perform thorough decontamination of surgical and medical instruments, operating areas, and equipment to eliminate germs and prevent infection. This includes meticulous cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization using industry-standard protocols and advanced equipment.
• Equipment Setup and Quality Assurance: Prepare and set up medical equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring all devices are in optimal working condition. Conduct routine quality control checks to verify functionality and adherence to safety regulations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with local and international healthcare regulations, including those set by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. Maintain detailed sterilization records to document processes and outcomes for audit purposes.
• Inventory Management: Perform equipment inventory checks, restock supplies as needed, and organize tools efficiently. This includes sorting and matching instrument sets, ensuring physicians have immediate access to the correct tools during procedures.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sterilization activities, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels. Report any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.

Work Environment and Schedule

This position operates entirely indoors within a fast-paced healthcare setting. The work schedule includes six consecutive working days followed by one day off. Daily working hours are divided into two shifts: from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a mandatory four-hour break from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This structured schedule ensures optimal coverage while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or Biochemistry from an accredited institution.
• Professional Certification: A valid Professional Accreditation Certificate issued by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, demonstrating your expertise in sterilization and infection control.
• Experience: While prior experience is beneficial, we welcome fresh graduates who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical healthcare environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to maintain records and generate reports.
• Language Skills: Fluency in both Arabic and English is essential to communicate effectively with colleagues and ensure seamless operations within the healthcare facility.
