Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will provide comprehensive chairside assistance to our general and specialist dentists, ensuring seamless and efficient delivery of clinical and surgical dental procedures. Key Responsibilities

As a Dental Assistant, your core duties will include:

• Chairside Assistance: Provide complete support to dentists during diagnostic, operative, surgical, periodontal, preventive, orthodontic, prosthodontic, endodontic, or pedodontic procedures. This includes preparing and dismissing patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
• Clinical Support Functions:
  • Perform point-of-use cleaning and disinfection of instruments and equipment to maintain stringent hygiene standards.
  • Provide post-operative instructions as prescribed by the dentist, ensuring patients understand their care regimen.
  • Manage supply inventory and maintain accurate records as required by dental protocols.
  • Assist in patient examinations by retracting cheeks and tissues, irrigating mouth fluids, and aspirating without causing discomfort.
• Four-Handed Dentistry: Anticipate the dentist’s needs and collaborate effectively to streamline operative procedures, enhancing efficiency and patient outcomes.
• Expanded Duty Procedures: Perform additional clinical tasks under the dentist’s supervision, as deemed necessary for comprehensive patient care.
• Patient Records Management:
  • Review and update patient medical histories, flagging charts to highlight significant concerns for the dentist’s review.
  • Accurately document oral conditions and treatment rendered in patient charts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Emergency Preparedness: Maintain proficiency in First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Respond promptly to medical emergencies, providing initial care until additional medical assistance arrives or the dentist takes over.
• Patient Education: Instruct patients on post-operative home care procedures as directed by the dentist, fostering optimal recovery and long-term oral health.
• Additional Duties: Undertake other related responsibilities as assigned by the dental team to support clinic operations and patient satisfaction.

Work Environment & Schedule

This position operates entirely indoors within a professional dental clinic setting. The role follows a structured schedule of six working days per week, with one designated day off. Working hours are aligned with an 8-hour net shift, as approved by the Head of Department, ensuring consistency and reliability in patient care delivery.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: A Diploma in Dental Assisting or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of clinical experience in a dental setting, with a proven track record in chairside assistance and patient care.
• Technical Proficiency: Competency in office software and health information systems to maintain accurate records and streamline administrative tasks.
• Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Arabic, with strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
