CNC Maintenance Engineer

Position Overview

We are collaborating with a premier precision manufacturing organization and a global frontrunner in repair, rental, and manufacturing solutions for the energy sector to identify a seasoned CNC Maintenance Engineer for their state-of-the-art facility in Dammam. This industry leader specializes in machining premium steel grades to produce and refurbish high-tolerance downhole tools and drilling equipment for some of the most prominent names in the oil and gas industry. Their Saudi-based facility is experiencing rapid expansion, having recently ventured into deep hole drilling, intricate internal diameter (ID) machining, and honing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the CNC Maintenance Engineer will serve as the technical authority for all CNC machine maintenance activities across the workshop, ensuring optimal equipment availability and seamless production workflows. The role encompasses a broad spectrum of critical responsibilities, including:

• Breakdown Response and Fault Diagnosis: Providing immediate and effective response to machine breakdowns, conducting thorough fault diagnosis, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Preventive Maintenance Planning and Execution: Developing, scheduling, and executing comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to enhance machine reliability, extend equipment lifespan, and reduce unplanned stoppages.
• Third-Party and OEM Liaison: Collaborating with external service providers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to facilitate technical support, warranty claims, and specialized repairs, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
• Safety-Critical Contingency Planning: Establishing robust contingency measures for safety-critical equipment failures, including risk assessments, emergency protocols, and fail-safe procedures to safeguard personnel and assets.
• Process Improvement and QHSE Initiatives: Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for efficiency gains, cost reduction, and enhanced quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) compliance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working in close partnership with the Operations Manager, Quality Leader, and senior shop floor personnel to align maintenance strategies with production goals, quality standards, and operational objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in CNC machine tool maintenance, with a proven track record in troubleshooting, repair, and upkeep of advanced machining equipment. Familiarity with Fanuc or Mazak control systems is highly advantageous, given their prevalence in the industry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, exercise sound technical judgment, and make data-driven decisions under pressure.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential, as the role requires frequent interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders. Prior experience in preventive maintenance planning, breakdown analysis, and meticulous documentation is required to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
