Associate Cybersecurity Analyst - Saudi Aramco SMP

Saudi Aramco – SMP is seeking a highly motivated Associate Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic team in Dhahran. Key Responsibilities

• Security Monitoring & Threat Detection: Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools such as Splunk and Cribl to identify potential threats, anomalies, or security incidents.
• Log Analysis & Investigation: Conduct in-depth log analysis to investigate security incidents, trace attack vectors, and provide actionable insights for remediation.
• Incident Response Support: Assist in the identification, containment, and mitigation of security incidents in collaboration with the incident response team.
• SIEM Administration: Maintain and optimize SIEM platforms to ensure efficient data collection, correlation, and reporting while adhering to best practices.
• Compliance & Reporting: Support compliance initiatives by generating reports, documenting security events, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and industry regulations.
• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and governance, to enhance security posture and foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness.
• Scripting & Automation: Develop and refine basic scripts (Python or PowerShell) to automate repetitive tasks, improve workflow efficiency, and enhance detection capabilities.
• Cloud Security Awareness: Maintain a foundational understanding of cloud security principles and best practices across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on security operations, log analysis, or SIEM technologies.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Strong working knowledge of Splunk, Cribl, and other SIEM solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with log analysis, threat detection, and security monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and database systems.
  • Basic scripting skills in Python or PowerShell to support automation and analysis tasks.
  • Awareness of cloud security concepts and exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms.
• Certifications: Splunk Power User and Splunk Administration certifications are mandatory. Additional certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC) are highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills to articulate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
