Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Helper to join our team at Le Méridien in Almadinah Almunawwarah, Saudi Arabia. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by performing a variety of maintenance tasks, addressing minor repairs, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service while adhering to all safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plumbing and Minor Repairs: Address minor plumbing issues, including unclogging drains and toilets, repairing leaks in sinks or faucets, and tightening toilet seats. Perform general maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, patching holes in walls, and ensuring fixtures are in optimal working condition.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend their lifespan.
• Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures outlined by the company. Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly. Participate in mandatory safety training and obtain relevant certifications to ensure a secure work environment.
• Guest and Staff Interaction: Maintain a professional appearance at all times by wearing a clean and complete uniform. Greet and assist guests according to company standards, anticipate their needs, and provide courteous support, particularly to individuals with mobility challenges. Communicate clearly and respectfully in all interactions.
• Team Collaboration: Foster positive working relationships with colleagues by actively listening, addressing concerns, and collaborating effectively to achieve shared goals. Uphold the highest standards of quality and service excellence in all tasks performed.
• Physical Requirements: Demonstrate the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects weighing up to 23 kg independently. Assist with moving and positioning heavier items (over 45.5 kg) such as air conditioners, televisions, or furniture. Navigate stairs, service access points, and ladders safely and efficiently.
• Additional Duties: Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by supervisors that fall within the scope of this role, ensuring alignment with the facility’s operational needs and standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional vocational training in maintenance or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience: Prior work experience in maintenance, repair, or facilities management is beneficial but not required. Entry-level candidates with a strong willingness to learn and a hands-on approach are encouraged to apply.
• Certifications: While no specific certifications are required at the time of hiring, candidates must be prepared to complete mandatory safety training and obtain relevant certifications as part of their role.
• Skills and Attributes: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward identifying and resolving maintenance issues. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. Physical stamina and the capacity to perform repetitive tasks are also required.
