Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will provide essential technical support in the installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless execution of projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the monitoring and execution of mechanical works at construction sites, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
• Review mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications to verify accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct thorough inspections of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems to identify potential issues and ensure proper functionality.
• Inspect equipment, piping, ductwork, valves, and accessories during installation to verify compliance with approved standards and specifications.
• Participate in testing, balancing, flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning activities to validate system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, civil, and architectural teams to coordinate mechanical works and resolve inter-disciplinary challenges.
• Monitor subcontractor activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Prepare detailed progress reports, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and corrective actions required.
• Identify installation defects and follow up on corrective measures to maintain project integrity and quality.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, and progress to support project documentation and audits.
• Assist in the preparation of red-line drawings and as-built drawings to reflect actual site conditions and modifications.
• Ensure the use of approved mechanical materials and equipment, verifying compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Adhere to approved quality, health, and safety procedures to foster a secure and compliant work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum experience of up to 5 years in mechanical works or construction projects, with fresh graduates also encouraged to apply.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems, including installation and maintenance practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and familiarity with AutoCAD for drafting and design review.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical specifications, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
