Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Patient Care: Conduct thorough history-taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests to develop and execute evidence-based treatment plans for inpatients and outpatients. Collaborate closely with senior staff, including consultants and registrars, to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Ward Rounds and Clinical Leadership: Lead daily ward rounds for inpatients, liaise with consultants regarding patient management, and actively participate in on-call rotations. Present admissions and patient updates in morning reports, fostering a collaborative and informed clinical environment.
• Diagnostic and Procedural Expertise: Perform essential diagnostic procedures—such as bone marrow aspirations, lumbar punctures, and joint aspirations—under the guidance of senior staff. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and documentation standards at every stage.
• Outpatient and Emergency Care: Provide specialized care in outpatient departments (OPD) and emergency rooms (ER), delivering timely interventions and rehabilitation strategies tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Specialized Unit Rotation: Rotate through high-acuity units (e.g., ICU, CCU, Hemodialysis) as required, working under the supervision of senior staff to manage complex cases and optimize patient outcomes.
• Administrative and Documentation Excellence: Maintain meticulous and up-to-date patient records, including problem lists, discharge summaries, and death reports. Ensure all documentation aligns with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Patient and Family Education: Act as a trusted educator, empowering patients and families with clear, culturally sensitive, and developmentally appropriate health information. Collaborate with them to align care plans with their goals and preferences, documenting all educational interactions in patient records.
